In the beginning, before the great corruption lay the seed of something astounding to come.  With a slim silhouette and profile, the In The Beginning wallet is made of soft shrunken pebble leather and finished with matte rose gold YKK hardware.  The outside zipper section makes for easy access to your cash without having to open the main section of the wallet.  Whilst the alternate card slots ensure the wallet stays compact and even when full.

        What's so good about leather anyway?

        For starters, it’s natural. That's what makes the grain and colour of every piece unique and unrepeatable, and give it the ability to develop in character as it ages. Leather is soft but strong and unlike those horrible synthetic materials, they last.

        How very European of you

        You should know, there’s leather, and then... there's leather. We use predominantly premium Italian, French and New Zealand leathers, and although they cost more, the hand feel and the way in which they wear, is far superior to the more commonly used and cheaper Asian leathers. Our tannery’s develop our leather just for us, some are washed, others shrunken, and some embossed.

        Not All Metals Are Equal

        It's hard to tell from photo's but the hand feel of hardware is very noticeable in the flesh. We only use quality custom fittings or YKK hardware (not cheaper/lightweight substitutes) to ensure your gear can handle the thrashing you're inevitably going to give it.

        Knots Matter

        Like mum always said, if you're going to do something, do it well. We don't envy this job... but even the string, swing card and knots have to be done just so.

        Were any Siberian snow leopards hurt in the process?

        Status Anxiety leather is a bi-product of the food industry and sourced only from countries with strict ethical production standards. As it should be. Our furs and hides are all printed cowhides. The only exception is our Springbok bag, which is the indigenous animal of South Africa and who's population numbers are in excess of 2.5ML and are continuing to expand.

        Don't take it too seriously

        You change your clothes daily (hopefully), but your bag and wallet go with you every day. With our minimalistic and uncomplicated designs, you can do your thing without looking like you take yourself too seriously. No one wants that.

        What's on the Inside?

        Though it costs us a little more, using thick cotton lining ensures the tweezers you threw in don't rip through. Our custom lining is soft and durable but never boring.

        Real Life Person

        This job looks like a good stress reliever after all that string tying! From start to finish everything Status Anxiety is handmade. There's a quality and attention to detail that can only come from a real life person... particularly when you're working with a natural and unique material like leather.

        Using Afterpay you can pay for your order over four fortnightly payments. There's no interest or added fees. Payments will be automatically taken from your debit or credit card in four equal payments each fortnight and you will receive your order immediately.
