With warmer days ahead and more time hanging with friends and family, perhaps a few cocktails are in order...
Here’s a few fun, fresh concoctions made with the new gin we created with Archie Rose.
THE CLASSIC G&T
It’s a classic, so you wanna get it right.
The secret (so we’re told) is heaps of ice and buying the premium tonic water (we love Fever Tree Tonic Water).
Ingredients
50ml Gin
50ml Fever Tree tonic water
50ml soda water
To garnish
Method
In a short glass, add large square ice cubes and wedge of lime, then pour over 50ml botanical Gin. Top with 50ml soda water and 50ml tonic water.
NEGRONI
Invented in 1919 in Florence, the Negroni is best served on the rocks and never shaken. A few slow turns, a good garnish and you’re away.
Ingredients
25ml Gin
25ml Sweet Vermouth (we used Antica formula)
25ml Campari
Ice
For the garnish
Slice of orange
Method
Pour the Gin, Vermouth and Campari into a mixing glass or jug with ice. Stir well until the outside of the glass feels cold.
Strain into a tumbler and add 1 large ice sphere or some fresh ice, and garnish with an orange slice, using a blood orange when in season.
GIN FIZZ
If you like a Tom Collins, you’ll wanna try its bubbly cousin the Gin Fizz. The secret to creating the perfect creaminess is to shake, shake… and then shake some more.
Ingredients
60ml gin
30ml fresh lemon juice
20ml sugar syrup
1 egg white
30ml good quality soda
Garnish
Edible flowers
